Our little Annie, now named Teghan is off to an exciting career as the State of NC’s first Courthouse Facility Dog. Named in memory of Teghan Skiba, a four-year-old tortured and murdered in Smithfield in 2010, Teghan will be in training for one year before becoming licensed as a courthouse staff member to comfort witnesses who have to endure difficult testimony. We will follow Teghan first through the trials of her training, and then through her literal trials as she embarks on this very unique role of aid and comfort to children and others who have to give difficult courtroom testimony.
